The topicality of the themes and the experimental nature of the SMART LAB line will contribute to generating significant impacts for the community thanks to the growth of knowledge, the economic valorisation of the technologies developed and partnerships with third parties. p>
The expected impact is the increased ability to:
- propose solutions to open problems at an academic and sectoral level with scientific and popular publications of high scientific and applicative interest;
- participate in competitive tenders for which the SMART LAB environment and the multidisciplinary approach
constitute conditions of reward; - carry out third mission and technology transfer activities. The specificity and uniqueness of some
equipment will allow the Department’s external contracts to be increased, as
potentially sole supplier of some services at local and national level; - contribute to the dissemination of enabling Industry 4.0 technologies (Additive manufacturing, Simulation, BIG Data & Analytics) and related methodologies, deriving from third party activities
mission oriented towards entrepreneurial realities and local authorities; - attract researchers and Visiting Scholars from abroad. We also expect an increase in the number of applications from abroad to Individual Grants positions that can be hosted at ICEA (such as ERC, MSCA, MSCA SEAL OF EXCELLENCE@UNIPD, RISE, ITN, STARS GRANTS, TALENT@UNIPD); li>
- enhance the University’s policy on environmental sustainability and promptly respond to the UN sustainable development objectives.
