With the SEI ICEA project, the ICEA Department identifies the objectives to be pursued in the development of excellence for the five-year period 2023-27 on the topic of Smart Engineering Infrastructures (SEI).
SEIs are public utility infrastructure solutions that make the natural and built environment sustainable and safe: they are designed, built and monitored according to innovative and intelligent systems.
These systems allow for continuous monitoring and the possibility of real-time adjustments in response to potential problems.
Advances in knowledge and applications in this sector are important objectives to achieve optimal levels of productivity, efficiency, sustainability and safety in a broader global challenge that aims to create so-called Smart Cities.
