The first SMART LAB development line aims to create an integrated and multidisciplinary network of ICEA laboratories for high-profile research activities and for technical-scientific support to the realities territorial in the SEI sector.
By strengthening the current laboratory system and strengthening strategic disciplinary sectors, the aim is to:
- conduct COMPLEX EXPERIMENTAL TESTS relating to: characterization of the thermo-mechanical behavior of building materials and structural elements; Construction 4.0 techniques, rapid prototyping and 3D printing; hydroelectric, wave, tidal and offshore wind renewable energy production; study of localized erosive phenomena and solutions for the containment of water losses; study of autonomous vehicles and new mobility management systems; research in the field of smart roads and V2X communication and cooperation systems; recovery of thermal energy from road paving and use of recycled materials in paving and construction materials;
- develop and implement SURVEY AND MONITORING techniques relating to: IoT integrated systems for the control of the natural and built environment; digital survey and Scan to BIM techniques; integrated methodologies for monitoring structures and infrastructures using optical-acoustic sensors;
- deepen and apply methods of management and analysis of COMPLEX DATA AND BIG DATA relating to: statistical-analytical modeling and technologies for the analysis of structured and unstructured data deriving from IoT systems and other heterogeneous sources; Machine Learning algorithms and techniques; advanced modeling of complex engineering phenomena; innovative methodologies for the economic evaluation of projects, plans and policies.
